EC MOTORS

What is an electronically commutated EC motor? Electronically Commutated EC Motors Electronically commutated (EC) motors are designed to operate on alternating current (AC), but are actually more similar to direct current (DC) motors. It is essentially a brushless DC motor with permanent magnets and integrated electronics. Additional electronics allow EC motors to combine the best characteristics of AC and DC motors and then improve upon them. Therefore, EC motors are in a class of their own.

By using this technology, EC fans are highly efficient and pay for themselves through lower operating costs and longer service life. They also provide many operational advantages that are often overlooked. Once these capabilities are fully recognized in North America, EC fans will represent the next revolution in the air delivery industry
